Charles R. Lux Owner/Funeral Director clux@charlesrlux.com

Charles oversees all aspects of the funeral home including consultations with families, pre-planning, monument sales, and administrative duties. As the youngest of seven children, he graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1987 and later received his degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University in 1991. He is a member of Sacred Heart Parish where he sings in the choir. He is also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Knights of Columbus, Isabella County Victim Services, serves as an Advisor to the Calvary Cemetery Board and is Treasurer of the Fancher School PTO. He enjoys sports, especially volleyball and golf. While he loves his calling in life to serve his community in its time of need, nothing gives him greater joy than spending time with his family. He and his wife, Minde have four children, Carlie, Zoe, Abigail and Caiden.

Minde Lux Co-Owner/Isabella County Clerk mlux@isabellacounty.org

Minde was born and raised in Shepherd and graduated from Shepherd High School in 1992. She is the daughter of Phil and Gail VanAcker who currently reside in Shepherd. She and her husband Charlie have four children, Carlie, Zoe, Abigail and Caiden. While she is co-owner of the funeral home, she has been serving as the Isabella County Clerk since the beginning of January 2013. She is very involved in the community including her membership in the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club.

Taylor Sheahan-Stahl Licensed Funeral Director taylor@charlesrlux.com

Taylor J. Sheahan-Stahl became a licensed funeral director in March 2015. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 2010 and received his degree in Mortuary Science from Florida State College in Jacksonville FL. Taylor was President and founder of the FFDEA (Future Funeral Directors and Embalmers of America) while he attended school in Florida. He is a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the Mt. Pleasant Knights of Columbus, Isabella County Victim Services, and the Mt. Pleasant Lions Club (serving as Second Vice-President).  Taylor also serves on the Union Township Zoning Board of Appeals and the Mt. Pleasant School Board (serving as Treasurer). He enjoys bike riding and spending time with his family and friends. He is the son of Kathy Sheahan-Stahl and the late William Stahl.

Rachel Lessard-Trost Office Manager rachel@charlesrlux.com

Rachel joined our staff in September 2016 and assumed the role of office manager after the retirement of longtime staff member, Ginny Maney.  Rachel also facilitates the funeral home's pre-planning program.  She was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, daughter of Janice (Brehm) Lessard and the late Daryl Lessard. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School she received her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Central Michigan University.  She is an active member of Sacred Heart Parish where she sings in the Choir.  She is President of the Fancher PTO and Secretary of the Board for Mount Pleasant Fastpitch.  In her extra time Rachel enjoys watching her daughters Ashley and Addison with their involvement in dance, softball, and soccer.  Rachel likes to play golf, go to the beach and work in her garden and yard.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She takes great pleasure in serving her community and looks forward to continue those efforts through the funeral home.

Mel Clark Assistant

Mel assists our firm on a part-time basis. He graduated from Jackson High School and worked as an engineer for W.J.I.M. in Lansing. He retired from Ingham County as a Transportation Officer, working with veterans on their medical applications. He enjoys fishing, hunting and horse racing. Mel is the father of six daughters and one son.

Colleen Harnick Assistant

Colleen has worked part-time for the funeral home since 2004 helping families with their needs during visitations and services. She retired from Rite Aid and helps her husband at home with beekeeping. She is a member of the Red Hat Society's "Red Hot Mamas" and enjoys reading and being with her friends. Colleen has three children and loves spending as much time as possible with her six grandchildren. She is a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Al Tucker Assistant

Al began working part-time for the funeral home in January 2010, assisting on visitations and funerals. He retired from Mt. Pleasant Public Schools after 32 years where he taught drafting, industrial math, machine shop and special education. In his retirement he continued teaching drafting, automotive, and construction management at Central Michigan University from 2002-2009. He was also employed part-time for M&M Chevrolet and Graff Chevrolet as a service writer and courtesy driver. Al served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972 during Vietnam. He enjoys building street rods, working on the farm, and golfing. He is a member of Sacred Heart Parish and is a member of the Mt. Pleasant Knights of Columbus. He has two daughters and he and his wife, Kathleen, reside in Mt. Pleasant.

Alex Cress Assistant

Alex Cress is originally from Cadillac, Michigan. He graduated from Cadillac Senior High School in the spring of 2014. He is currently taking courses, and gaining prerequisite credit at Central Michigan University. He will be transferring to Wayne State University in the fall of 2017 to attend Mortuary School. He has had many experiences with multiple funeral homes prior to his departure as well. Alex enjoys exercise, working with people, and volunteering. Alex is actively involved with Habitat for Humanity, The Kiwanis Foundation, and The Salvation Army. He is also greatly anticipating the opportunity to become a licensed funeral director, so he will be able to better help and support his community in the future.

Laura J. Ruhle BA Grief Counselor

Laura joined our family staff in July 2009. She is certified in Death & Grief Studies through the Center For Loss and Life Transition with Alan D. Wolfelt, PhD. She leads our Grief Group support the third Monday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. here at Lux Family Funeral Home. There is no charge to attend these group sessions.
