Charles R. Lux, Owner/Funeral Director
Charles Jr. oversees all aspects of the funeral home including consultations with families, pre-planning, monument sales, and administrative duties. As the youngest of seven children, he graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1987 and later received his degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University in 1991. He is a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He is also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Knights of Columbus and serves as an Advisor to the Calvary Cemetery Board. He enjoys sports, especially volleyball and golf. While he loves his calling in life to serve his community in its time of need, nothing gives him greater joy than spending time with his family. He and his wife, Minde have four children, Carlie, Zoe, Abigail and Caiden.

Minde Lux, Co-Owner
Minde was born and raised in Shepherd and graduated from Shepherd High School in 1992. She is the daughter of Phil and Gail VanAcker who currently reside in Shepherd. She and her husband, Charlie have three daughters, Carlie, Zoe and Abigail and a son, Caiden. While she is co-owner of the funeral home, she is also employed full-time by the County of Isabella in the Register of Deeds office. She is very involved in the community including her appointment on the Mt. Pleasant Planning Commission.

Ginny Maney, Office Manager
Ginny is responsible for many of the day to day details in the office. She works very closely with the Director to make sure all tasks are properly taken care of. Her previous employment includes 28 years at MichCon Gas where she retired in 2001 as a marketing consultant. She is a lifetime resident of Shepherd, MI. Some of her favorite pastimes include crafts, camping and fishing. Ginny has four children and eight grandchildren who she loves spending time with. She also loves traveling to Okeechobee, FL in March each year with her sister to visit their parents who winter there.

Leona McDonald, Director's Assistant
Leona began working part-time with us in 2002. Many people recognize her face, as she worked as the Court Clerk for Isabella County for 25 years. Leona retired from the county in 1994. She is a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Her hobbies include sewing, quilting, and traveling. Leona is the proud mother of seven children. Her home is in Mt. Pleasant.

Mel Clark, Director's Assistant
Mel assists Mr. Lux with funeral services and visitations on a part-time basis. He graduated from Jackson High School and worked as an engineer for W.J.I.M. in Lansing. He retired from Ingham County as a Transportation Officer, working with veterans on their medical applications. He enjoys fishing, hunting and horse racing. Mel is the father of six daughters and one son.

JoAnn Neubecker, Director's Assistant
As a part-time employee, Jo Ann assists the funeral home on visitations and funerals. She graduated from Shepherd High School and worked as an Assistant Manager in a number of different retail stores. Jo Ann also worked for Central Michigan University, and retired from her position there in 1996. Jo Ann is the wife of the late, Norman Neubecker (1986), and has four children and eight grandchildren.

Colleen Harnick, Director's Assistant
Colleen has worked part-time for the funeral home since 2004 helping families with their needs during visitations and services. She retired from Rite Aid and helps her husband at home with beekeeping. She is a member of the Red Hat Society's "Red Hot Mamas" and enjoys reading and being with her friends. Colleen has three children and loves spending as much time as possible with her six grandchildren. She is a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Gerald Zeien, Director's Assistant
Gerald has been assisting the funeral home during visitations and funerals since 2009. A life resident of the area, Gerald graduated from Beal City High School in 1969 and retired from Dow Corning in 2005, after 35 years. He attends The Potter's House Family Worship Center and enjoys hunting and spending time with his family at their cottage on Sapphire Lake. He and his wife, Chris, reside in Mt. Pleasant and have five children and 11 grandchildren.

Gloria Coffron, Director's Assistant
Gloria has been assisting the funeral home in serving the needs of our families since August of 2009. A graduate of Shepherd High School, Gloria is a retired nurse, She resides in Saginaw Township and spends her winter months in Florida. Some of her favorite pastimes include traveling, shopping, antiquing, and reading. She and her husband have one daughter.

Al Tucker, Director's Assistant
Al began working part-time for the funeral home in January 2010, assisting on visitations and funerals. He retired from Mt. Pleasant Public Schools after 32 years where he taught drafting, industrial math, machine shop and special education. In his retirement he continued teaching drafting, automotive, and construction management at Central Michigan University from 2002-2009. He was also employed part-time for M&M Chevrolet and Graff Chevrolet as a service writer and courtesy driver. Al served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972 during Vietnam. He enjoys building street rods, working on the farm, and golfing. He is a member of Sacred Heart Parish and is a member of the Mt. Pleasant Knights of Columbus. He has two daughters and he and his wife, Kathleen, reside in Mt. Pleasant.

Scott Martin, Director's Assistant
Scott is a tremendous asset to the funeral home, not only in the efforts he gives to the families we serve, but also in the talents he provides in keeping the outside grounds maintained. Besides bowling, Scott enjoys restoring and showing antique cars and antique tractors.

Dana Kequom-Neyome, Native American Liaison
Dana specializes in communications between the Native American community and our funeral home. Because a death can often times be overwhelming, Dana's presence and support can help make the funeral arranging process more comfortable. As a member of the Saginaw-Chippewa Indian Tribe, Dana will also help to ensure that valued ceremonies, such as the Sacred Fire, are not overlooked. A lifelong member of the area, Dana graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and is married to Chip Neyome. They have four children, Skyler, Autumn, Tina and Kobun. Dana enjoys being involved in her community. Some of her favorite pastimes are softball and volleyball. But most important to her is her family and her faith.

Laura J. Ruhle BA, Grief Counselor
Laura joined our family staff in July 2009. She is certified in Death & Grief Studies through the Center For Loss and Life Transition with Alan D. Wolfelt, PhD. She will be leading Grief Group support the third Monday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. here at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. There is no charge to attend these group sessions.
