A. Richard Kidd

Richard Kidd, 84, of Cadillac and formerly of Harper Woods, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Cadillac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cadillac. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Richard was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Farwell, the son of Albert H. and Helen R. (Trainor) Kidd. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, he received his Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University and his Masters degree from Western Michigan University. He was a business professor at Highland Park Junior College and also taught at Greenville High School in the late 1950s. He is a member of St. Ann Parish in Cadillac and former member of St. Peter Parish in Harper Woods. Richard is survived by his nieces and nephews, Colleen (Ronald) Bailey of Cadillac, Patrick James (Jacquelyn) McReavy of South Boardman, Camille (Camille) Marquis of New Britain, CT, and Rose Marie (Dr. Irvin) Potts of Sanford. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Genoa Kidd; and sister, Lena McReavy.
