Agnes was born Nov. 1, 1924, on the Forest Home Farm in Nottawa Township in Isabella County, daughter of the late Joseph and Augusta (Martin) Andres. Agnes was the youngest of six children. Her older siblings were Theodine (Hackett), Celestine Sally (Hackett), Loretta (Schueller), Lorraine (Sister Mary Theodine), and Aloysius. She attended St. Philomena Catholic School in Beal City and graduated from Beal City High School in 1943. After graduation she enrolled at Michigan State University for a home economics short course, sponsored by Kelloggs of Battle Creek. She worked for the Isabella Sugar Company until her marriage to William Fox on May 10, 1947 at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. Bill and Agnes raised eight children and had many happy, hard working years on their farm on Nottawa Rd. Agnes loved being a mother and homemaker. Her family of Foxes brought her great joy. She enjoyed planning family celebrations, making sure to include everyones favorite dishes. She loved playing cards, playing bingo, going to garage sales and shopping. But more than anything she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Agnes is survived by seven children, Steve (Yvonne) Fox of Beal City, George (Dora) Fox of Beal City, Kathy (Mark) Stevens of Lowell, Annette (Dan) Byers of Nunica, Tom (Donna) Fox of Beal City, Marty (Julie) Fox of Beal City and Frank (Jean) Fox of Beal City; 20 grandchildren, Tracie, Matt, Maia, Abagail, Brett, Ben, Kara, Joe, Dana, Eric, Lara, David, Patrick, Michael, Katie, Rachel, Sam, Kyle, Adam, and Nicole; 14 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William in 2001; son, John in 1972; grandson, Pat Garrett in 1993; and her five siblings. Agnes was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Her faith was a foundation throughout her life. The family expresses their deep gratitude to the staff of the Isabella County Medical Care Facility for its tender care of Agnes and the kindness shown to the Fox Family.
