Agnes I. Fox, 87, of Weidman passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Margarets Meadows near Blanchard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will take place in the gathering room at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph The Worker Church or to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Agnes was born Sept. 21, 1919, in Isabella County, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Gruss) Breuer. She married Edward Fox on June 8, 1940, at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. Besides taking care of the home, she and her husband owned and operated Fox Hardware in Weidman for 25 years. She also worked for two years at Ferro Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and a life member of the Council of Catholic Women. One of her favorite pastimes was baking. Agnes is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Edward Fox of Weidman; a son, Bill Fox of Weidman; three grandchildren, Jamie Jelsma, and Eddy and Valerie Fox; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Schafer and Thelma Kolarik, both of Mt. Pleasant; a brother-in-law, Norm Gross of Beal City; a sister-in-law, Donna Breuer of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Fox; two brothers, Ronald and Harold Breuer; and a sister, Margaret Gross.
