Albert J. Tilmann, 81, of Beal City died Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father John Cotter presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the gathering room of St. Joseph Church in Beal City on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. There will be no visitation prior to the mass on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or School. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Lux Funeral Home. Albert was born June 19, 1922, in Arenac County, the son of William and Ida (Hagley) Tilmann. He married Dorothy Neubecker May 1, 1948, at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, Albert served in the North and South Pacific Theaters from 1942-1946 as a paratrooper. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and camping. Albert is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tilmann of Beal City; son David (Dianne) Tilmann of Reed City; three daughters, Mary (Paul) Stokes of Grand Ledge, Denise (Jeff) Malec of Oregonia, OH, and Pamela Tilmann of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren, John (Kim) Tilmann, Ashley (Brian) Wezensky, Mindy (Jerid) Baxter, Kim, Carrie, Trevor, Tyler, Troy, Anna, Michael, Emily, and Joel; three great grandchildren, Abigail, Logan, and Quincy; two brothers, William Tilmann of Tucson, AZ and Eugene Tilmann of Beal City; two sisters, Mary Courtright of Mt. Pleasant and Mildred (Ed) Schafer of Beal City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Tilmann; and sister, Irene Tilmann.
