Alder G. McLellan, 91, of Blanchard passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 at the Wooden Rocker in Mt. Pleasant. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Lux Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Richardson of Chippewa Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Decker Cemetery in Blanchard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or to the Wooden Rocker. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Alder was born Oct. 15, 1915 in Matapedia, Quebec, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte (Fraiser) Babcock. She married Reg McLellan on Oct. 22, 1937 in Matapedia. She was a member of Chippewa Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed embroidering, reading, cooking and traveling. But the most important part of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alder is survived by five children, Bill (Lucille) McLellan of Remus, David (Vicki) McLellan of St. George, Utah, Betty (Bill) Evely of Pickering, Ontario, Donna (Dave) Densmore of Blanchard, and Margaret (Darrell) Phillips of Washington, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her sister, Wanda Murray of Glencoe, New Brunswick, her close friends, Nellie and Wil Charron and Rod and Betty Erno; and her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reg; granddaughter, Sheila Baker; four brothers, William, Fraiser, Elmer and Gordon; and two sisters, Elva Mann and Gladys McDavid. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Crittenden-Hansen Funeral Home in Remus and Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
