Alexander M. Towns

Alexander Towns, 57, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Grand Rapids passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Alexander was born Aug. 29, 1952, in Grand Rapids, the son of Lowell and Elva (Jones) Towns. Most recently he worked as a cook at the Soaring Eagle Resort in Mt. Pleasant and had also worked as the head cook of Big Boy in Grand Rapids. He enjoyed fishing and cooking, but the most important thing in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Alexander is survived by his lifelong companion, Anita Hinmon of Mt. Pleasant; four children, Kristin (Lance Peters) Hinmon, Mitchell (Julie Peters) Hinmon, Holly (Pete Compo Jr.) Hinmon, and Harmony (Toby Lautner) Hinmon, all of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Erica and Novaly Hinmon; two brothers, Christopher and Jess Inman, both of Grand Rapids, and two sisters, Jo Ann and Jody Martinez, both of Grand Rapids.
