It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Alfred Duffiney, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, with his loving family by his side. A Funeral Mass for Alfred will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with a rosary service at 8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Alfred was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Flint, MI, son of the late Alfred Joseph and Margaret (McCann) Duffiney Sr. In 1971, Alfred met the love of his life, Mary Anne Kilbreath. They were married Nov. 29, 1978, in Flint. He has been a resident of Mt. Pleasant the past 25 years. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening and cooking. Nothing was more important to him than his loving family. Alfred is survived by his wife, Mary Anne; eight children, Denise (Craig) Tolen of North Branch, Dawn (Dave) Ochdnicky of Owosso, Matthew Duffiney of Mt. Pleasant, Courtenay (John) Sageman of Mt. Pleasant, twins Lucas Duffiney of Mt. Pleasant and Theresa (Jeremy) Antio of St. Louis, Katherine Duffiney of Mt. Pleasant, and Nathan Duffiney of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Anthony (Billie) Duffiney of Lapeer, Regina (Don) Johnson of Flushing, and Deborah (Bruce) Simms of Fenton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Diana Duffiney.
