Alice V. Lumbert

Alice Lumbert, 92, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Margarets Meadows near Blanchard. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 3. Memorial contributions may be made to HATS or Mt. Pleasant Marching Band. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Alice was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Isabella County, daughter of the late Floyd and Eva (Wiggins) Ludwig. She married Archie Lumbert on Oct. 6, 1937 in Mt. Pleasant. She worked as a cashier for several area grocery stores including Vics, Jacksons, and Lumberts. She enjoyed bus trips to casinos, playing Bingo, and bowling. Alice is survived by her son, Richard (Ann) Lumbert of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Lumbert of Midland and Kim Lumbert of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Robert (Mary) Lumbert, Lori (Jamie) Gillis, Julie Abel and Courtney (Scott) Martin; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Archie; two sons, Larry and Ken Lumbert; great-granddaughter, Angel Gillis; and two sisters, Lois Cotsman and Joyce Stovak.
