Amelia Torgerson, 82, of Lake Isabella, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Amelia was born March 15, 1929, in Kettle River, MN, the daughter of the late Andrew and Evelyn (Peterson) Ruotsalainen. After graduating from St. Lukes Medical School in Duluth, MN, she married Kenneth Torgerson on June 7, 1952, in Duluth. They moved to Lake Isabella in 1969 where she was employed by Central Michigan Community Hospital as an R.N. in the Obstetrics unit until 1986. She adored children and was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Amelia is survived by three children, David (Denise) Torgerson and Bruce (Cindy) Torgerson, both of Lake Isabella and Diane (Rob) Rowe of Palmdale, CA; eight grandchildren, Erica (Jason) Main, Katie (Garrett) Turner, Craig (Claire) Torgerson, Kirk Torgerson, and Robert, Hannah, Sophie and Loraine Rowe; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Addie and Graham; one brother, Henry (Marlene) Ruotsalainen of Hoyt Lakes, MN; one sister, Marie (Anthony) Penna of Hugo, MN; and one sister-in-law, Delores Ruotsala of Flagstaff, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 2007; two brothers, Raymond and Paul; and a sister, Helen Miller.
