Andrea Benaske, 46, of Weidman, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan, after a five-year battle with cancer. Andrea was born May 11, 1977, in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of Garry J. and Margaret L. (Thomas) Adams. She graduated from Holly High School in 1995 and earned her bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. On June 22, 2013, she married Mark Benaske in a beach ceremony in Traverse City. To say Andrea was an avid football fan would be an understatement. She voraciously cheered on the Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions and could name many past players and their positions. Andrea was more than happy to be a stay-at-home mom, spending countless, wonderful hours attending sporting events and dancing events of her children. Amongst her children's friends, she was voted "Favorite Mom". She had a lesson for everything. Andrea leaves behind her loving husband, Mark; three children (twins) Avery and Kaden and Gavin; her father, Garry (Terry) Adams of Fenton; brothers, Matthew (Jennifer) Adams of Grand Blanc and Anthony (Katlin) Adams of Enola, AR; step brothers, Bart (Jennifer) Williams of Holly and Brent (Nellie) Williams of Davison; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret "Peggy". Andrea's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Damitio officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Andrea will be laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery in Rosebush. All are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home) following the cemetery service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Cancer Services. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
