Angeline Fredrick, age 89, died peacefully on March 30, 2016 at her home in Franklin, TN. She will be dearly missed by many, but she is now on her way to heaven to be reunited with family and friends who have preceded her in death. Angie was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on July 20, 1926, the daughter of Samuel and Rose (Caterino) Cascarelli. Angie was the second of four children, including Andrew, Joseph and Mary. Angie graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Mt. Pleasant and the St. Lawrence College of Nursing in East Lansing, MI. In 1955, Angie married Joseph Raymond Fredrick of Louisville, Kentucky at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Joseph served in the U.S. Army during World War II and met Angie during a visit to Mt. Pleasant to see his Army friend, Andrew Cascarelli. For more than fifty years, Angie worked as a nurse in hospitals and for private practice physicians in Miami, Florida, Louisville, Kentucky and Terre Haute, Indiana. She enjoyed her nursing career and caring for others until she celebrated her retirement in 1998. Along with her work, Angie treasured being with her family and friends everywhere she lived. Angies deep Catholic faith and her strong dedication and devotion to family guided her throughout a full and productive life. She was a committed volunteer at her long-time parish of St. Benedicts in Terre Haute. She took great comfort from daily prayers and her rosary. For most of her life, Angie loved to travel, taking short and long trips with family members, and enjoying many vacations with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed several trips to Italy and many other countries in Europe, and elsewhere, including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Hawaii, and Canada. Trips home to Mt. Pleasant to see family were always memorable and appreciated due to the hospitality and warmth of everyone there. Angie cherished spending time with family and friends particularly over a home-cooked meal and dessert! Angie is survived by her four children, Mary Pat (Scott) Davis of Brentwood, TN; Mark (Jennifer) Fredrick of Huntington Beach, CA; Paul (Tomoko) Fredrick of Katy, TX and Carol (Barry) McRaith of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by her 10 loving grandchildren, Katie (Benjamin), Brad, Alexandra, Fiona, Joseph, Adelina, Angelo, Marcello, Aki, and Misa; and her 14 great grandchildren. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, spending lots of time in her retirement with them. They all adored their Nanny, and especially enjoyed her baked goods, Christmas cookies and homemade pies! Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph (1981); and her siblings Mary, Joseph, and Andrew, all three dying within the last 9 months. A Funeral Mass honoring Angies long and wonderful life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. Interment of her ashes will immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amazima Ministries, founded by her granddaughter Katie Davis Majors, (www.amazima.org) in Angies memory.
