Anita Davidson, 71, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Bay City passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at McLaren Central Michigan. She was born March 31, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late William Ernest and Sonja Faye (Watson) Balla. Anita was the second of 10 children and was welcomed into the home by her brother, Phillip. She was followed in birth by siblings, Steven, Denise, Virginia, Michael, William, Rebecca, Gregory, and Daniel. Anita's first marriage to James Homer Carnagie was blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Cathleen, and her second marriage to Byron James Davidson was blessed with three children, son, Kevin, and twin daughters, Stacy and Susan. Anita worked with special needs adults and taught middle school special education. She loved sports (Tigers, Lions, and Wolverines), gardening and baking. Anita is survived by her children, Sarah (David) Weigand of Dayton, OH and their children, David, Anne, and Grace; Cathleen (Daniel) Cuthbertson of Hudsonville and their children, Tait, Ruby, Mary, and Noah; Kevin (Jillian) Davidson of Mt. Pleasant and their son, Byron; Stacy (Sean) Campbell of Omaha, NE and their daughters, Merida, Fiona, and Sonja; and Susan (Kyle) Higgins of Marble Falls, TX. Also surviving are her siblings, Phillip (Setsuko) Balla of Japan, Steven Balla of Lapeer, William (LuAnne) Balla of Haslett, Rebecca (James) Dillon of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gregory Balla of Oklahoma City, OK, and Daniel Balla of Carrollton, TX; sister in-law, Sharon Balla of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sonja Balla; husband, Byron Davidson; and siblings, Denise Lewis, Virginia Wrable, and Michael Balla. A Funeral Mass for Anita will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, at Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Trinity Church, 1000 S. Wenona, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Father Robert Kelm will be the celebrant. The Mass will be streamed live and may be watched by clicking the following link ( Watch Live Stream ). The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant MI 48858, on Monday from 3-6 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to Mass. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, 713 9 th St., Bay City, MI 48708.
