Anita Jane Hinmon

Anita Hinmon, 61, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on May 3, 2022, at My Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.  Anita was born on February 19, 1961, daughter of the late Bruce Hinmon and Mickie DeRoo, in Berrien Springs, MI.  She was a Care Technician, in Behavioral Health Service for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe for almost 20 years.  She retired in February of 2022.  She was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, loved to take her granddaughter shopping, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.  She is survived by her children, Kristin (Lance Peters) Hinman, Harmony (David Wagner) Hinmon, and Mitchell Hinmon, all of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Kira Lautner; son in law, Gabriel Judson-Kahgegab; stepmother, Vera Hinmon; siblings, Bruce Hinmon Jr., Stella Jean Hinmon, Carolyn Louise Akiyama, Jamie DeRoo, Tammy DeRoo, Derek (Becca) Cook, Kimberly Joy Hinmon, Bethany Jo Hinmon, Cathleen Lynn Johnson, Susan Kay Hinmon, and Pamela Jean Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by both parents, lifelong partner, Alexander Towns (2009); daughter, Holly Hinmon (2020); stepsons, Alex Towns and Anthony Towns; brother, Bruce Smith Hinmon Jr.; Sisters, Stella Jean, and Cathleen Johnson.  Anita's memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Following the funeral, all are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
