Anthony "Tony" F. Swetz

Tony Swetz, 89, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Ann Arbor passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at Maplewood in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held in conjunction with his sisters, Margaret Rogers, funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, March 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Cremation will take place following the Mass with interment of his cremains in St. Francis Memorial Garden in Ann Arbor. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 3 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Tony was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Joseph and Katherine (Dubek) Swetz. He married Anna Belle Devore on July 4, 1947 in Toledo. He worked at the University of Michigan for 25 years and was a member of St. Francis Parish in Ann Arbor. Tony is survived by his brother, John (Alberta) Swetz of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Rosella Swetz and Carol Swetz, both of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Belle in 1999; two brothers, Joseph and Steven Swetz; and sister, Margaret Rogers.
