Antoinette "Toni" Lindstrand, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Comfort Care. Toni was born on November 9, 1942, in Chicago, Il., daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Rinella) Currire. She graduated from Providence Catholic High School in Chicago, with the class of 1960. After High School she worked as a secretary for a local lawyer's office, until her marriage to Douglas Lindstrand. Their marriage lasted for 40 years and was blessed with two children, Cathy and Michael. Toni loved to cook, crochet, watch movies, and work jigsaw puzzles. She held a special place for animals in her heart. Toni enjoyed riding horses in her early years and this enjoyment continued into her adulthood. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and sang for a time in the choir. Toni spent countless hours giving time to charities supporting animals and children. She is survived by her children, Dr. Cathy (Thom Russell) Lindstrand of Lake, and Michael (Sheila) Lindstrand of DeKalb, Il.; grandchildren, Clayton Hildebrand of Jackson, Katherine Hildebrand of Midland, Jonathan Lindstrand of Rochelle, Il., and Joey Lindstrand of Tallahassee, Fl.; and sister, Patricia (Danny) Pope of Rivergrove, Il. She is preceded in death by both parents; brother, Santo Currire; and grandson, Mikey Lindstrand. Per Toni's wishes, cremation has taken place at Memorial Fields Crematory. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, with Deacon Jim Damitio officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Immediately following service, a luncheon will be held in the Lincoln Reception Center. (located next to funeral home.) Toni's ashes will be buried in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Il. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella Feline Adoption and Wildlife Center or charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
