Arlene Brown, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at her home with her daughter at her side. Arlene was born April 4, 1922, in Rolland Township, Isabella County, the daughter of the late Ford C. and Grace E. (Hill) Ward. She married the late Clyde L. Brown on Aug. 1, 1941, in Oil City. She was employed by Hitachi Magnetic in Edmore from 1959-1982. Arlene is survived by two children, Richard C. (Sandra) Brown of Diamondale and Brenda A. (Randall) Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Richard L. (Michelle) Brown of Holt and Jeffery L. (Jill) Brown of Williamston; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Carey of Murrels Inlet, SC; two brothers, Doyle Ward of Blanchard and Donald Ward of Raymore, MO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde in 1980; brothers, Dale Ward and Dean Ward; and sister, Lorene Bellingar. Her last wishes were not to have a funeral or memorial service, but to be remembered by family and friends at her best. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred next to her husband in Pine River Cemetery on Blanchard Rd.
