Arlene Rosale Snyder, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Pleasant on June 8, 2025. Born on September 7, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Lester Snyder Sr. and Zola (Foster) Snyder, and was later lovingly raised by her stepfather, Vernon Brown.
Arlene was a devoted mother to her children: Sherry (Vern) Bissell, Kathy (Terry) Kennedy, John Grice, and Brenda Zimmerman. She also shared her heart and home with her stepchildren, Glenn Bordine and Shane Bordine. Her family was her world, and she was happiest when surrounded by them, laughing, reminiscing, and creating memories.
She had a vibrant spirit and a playful soul. Whether she was trying her luck at bingo, spending a day at the casino, casting a line while fishing, or hunting for treasures at yard sales, Arlene knew how to make everyday life a little more joyful. She loved the simple pleasures, tending to her garden, visiting with family and friends, and showing kindness to animals of all kinds.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Bordine; her parents, Lester Sr. and Zola; stepfather, Vernon Brown; her brothers Lester Snyder III and Orville Snyder; sisters Beulah Zimmerman and her twin, Eileen Singer; sisters-in-law Rose Snyder and Patricia Snyder; daughter Lisa Elliott; granddaughter Brooklynn Grice; nephews Jack Sphon and Scott Sphon; great-granddaughter Allysiana; daughter-in-law Camille Grice and brother-in-law Levi Smith.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her surviving siblings: Bert Snyder, Martha Smith, and Jim (Gloria) Lucus; as well as her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Arlene will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, her deep love for animals, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her strength and compassion were evident in all she did, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
