Arthur Allen Barton

Arthur Barton, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at home, with his family by his side. He was born September 18, 1942, in Fresno, California, son of the late Arthur and Nora (Sarkissian) Barton. He married Alice June Peters on January 6, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved to Michigan from Fresno that same year. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching Westerns, arguing politics, playing Pogo, watching baseball, and investing in the stock market. Arthur is survived by his wife, Alice; two children, Janet Moroney of Fresno, CA and Jimmy Barton of Sacramento, CA; step daughter, Christine Brown of Burton; nephew, Tony Barton; step grandchildren, Jenna Paul, Steven Paul, Sonya Garside, Katelynn Sexton, and Kylie Sexton; two step great grandchildren, Brianna Burgoon and Evelyn Ballance; uncle, Ed Barton; good friend, Stormie Wakemup; and faithful cats, Lady Snowpaws, Lilly, and Smokey. He was preceded in death by his parents; step daughter, Adeanna Sexton; and brother, Leon Barton. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
