Arthur Green Jr. 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. A Funeral Mass for Art will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday one hour prior to Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Sacred Heart Church. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Art was born March 19, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan, son of the late Arthur K. and Helen (Torrey) Green. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1967-1969. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Medal, and two Overseas Service Medals. He was employed as an engineer at General Motors in Flint. Art married Joy Schohl on April 9, 1983, at Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the 40/8, Disabled American Veterans, and life member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW Post 4106, both in Weidman. He enjoyed playing fetch with his dog, Buddy, playing video games, building computers, watching Gunsmoke, and most of all, loved his wife and children. Art is survived by four children, Dwayne (Paula) Green of Clarksville, TN; Jessica (Mark) Drumheller of Clare, Laura Green (Rocky McQueen) of Remus and Arthur Green III of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Jenna and Shania Green, and Rocky McQueen Jr.; brother, Charles Green; and brother in-law, Edward Schohl of Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joy in 2019; daughter, Bonnie Sue Green in 1984; and sister in-law, Coresa Schohl in 2015.
