Barbara "Barb" Mae Delong

Barbara "Barb" DeLong, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2023, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.  Barbara was born on December 21, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Elmer and Denice (Mahon) Bushong. She married the love of her life, William DeLong on April 21, 1953, in Berlin, NH.  They returned to Mt. Pleasant, where they raised their six children.   Barbara worked at Central Michigan Community Hospital for a few years.   She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband William.  Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, knitting, painting, crocheting, cross stitch and playing marbles. Barbara loved her grandchildren and will be greatly missed by many.   Barbara is survived by her children, Deborah (Dan) Woodbury, William DeLong, Terry (Pat) Doyle, Dennis Delong, Jeffrey (Shanna) DeLong all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Mindy, Laura, Jessica, Crystal, Sara, Steven, Caitlyn, Luke, and Zack; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Shirley, Phylis, Marvel, Jeannette, Connie, Trisha, Vicki and Donna; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, William in 2021; daughter, Tammy DeLong in 2012; sister, Lorraine; and granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Woodbury.   There will be a celebration of Barbara's life on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home at 11a.m. with Erik Stadtfeld officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4p.m. – 7p.m. and one hour prior to service.  A luncheon will follow at the Lincoln Reception Center, located next to the Funeral Home.  Barbara's ashes will be interred at the Memorial Gardens cemetery. Barbara's family would like to thank the entire staff at Green Acres, Mt. Pleasant for their outstanding care provided to Barb during her brief stay.
