Barbara Netzley, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at home, surrounded by her family. Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Barbara was born January 12, 1942, in Alma, the daughter of the late Stanley Walker and Beulah (Battley) Nieman. A graduate of Alma High School Barbara married the late Dennis Netzley on Jan. 10, 1959, in Breckenridge. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She bowled with her husband for several years on the Consumers Power couples league and she was a member of Isabella Baptist Church. She is survived by three children, Marie Netzley, Gary Netzley and Alan Netzley, all of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Caitlyn (Ryan) Flowers, Marissa Netzley and Lars Netzley; great grandson, Lane Flowers; two half-brothers, Ernest (Joyce) Nieman of Alma and James (Debbie) Nieman of Gould City; her half-sister, Irene Nieman of Flint; and parents-in-law, Maynard and Lois Netzley of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Walker in 1976; mother, Beulah Walker Nieman in 2010; her husband, Dennis in 2010; and half-sister, Shirley Sparks in 2009.
