Bernard Miller, 60, of Weidman, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House. Bernie was born December 28, 1962, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Bernard Eugene and Mary Alice (Jones) Miller. He graduated from Beal City High School in 1981. Bernie married Darlene Sue Luce on April 15, 1988, in Isabella County. Prior to working at Bill's Custom Fabricating for a few years, Bernie had been employed by Central Asphalt for 25 years. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, tinkering on cars, riding Harley's, watching NASCAR, and cheering on his favorite football teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and his beloved hometown Aggies of Beal City. More than any of those things, Bernie loved his family. Nothing was more important to him than his children, grandchildren and Coldwater Lake friends. Bernie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darlene; daughter, Danielle (Ace) Miller of Detroit; grandchildren, Kaleb Flint, Jaxon Pappas, Arthur Ford III, and Aziza Ford; siblings, Karen (Paul) Gross of Mt. Pleasant, Karla (Doug) Steward of Petoskey, Kal (Pam) Miller of Jackson, and Dan (Julie) Miller of Mt. Pleasant; sister in-law, Michelle Miller of Midland; mother in-law, Bonnie Luce of Mt. Pleasant; and sisters in-law, Dawn (Sarge) Luce of Mecosta, Gail (Dave) Pung of Weidman, and Kathy (Greg) Dean of Barryton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Mary Miller; daughter, Samantha Pappas; brothers, Ken and Matt Miller; and father in-law, Harold Luce. Those who wish to pay their respects to the family may do so on Saturday, July 22, from 3-8 p.m. at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. No other formal service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
