Bernice Grinzinger, 76, of Saginaw and formerly of Beal City, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Beal City with Father Patrick Jankowiak presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Bernice was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Isabella County, the daughter of the late Herman and Cecelia (Tilmann) Grinzinger. She was employed by General Motors in Saginaw for many years as an assembler. She attended Holy Family Parish in Saginaw and enjoyed reading, walking and spending time with her family. Bernice is survived by eight siblings, Dorothy (Edward) Todeschini of Dearborn, Marjorie Rau of Beal City, Alvin (Marsha) Grinzinger of Dearborn Heights, Florence (Fred) Steffke of Beal City, Rose Seder of Frankenmuth, Mary Mullin of Lake Isabella, Irene (Earl) Straus of Springfield, MO, and Mildred Elizabeth (Stephen) Power of Boston, MA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Joan Grinzinger, Catherine Miller, and Carol Ann Leinweber.
