Bernita Margaret Cuthbert, age 65, of Sears passed away on December 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Bernita was born on October 13, 1949 to Bernard and Margaret (Donald) Jackson in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She was raised in the Mt. Pleasant area and attended Mt. Pleasant area schools. On October 20, 1967 Bernita married John Cuthbert at the Weidman Baptist Church. Bernita enjoyed camping and she especially loved her family and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.She had a passion for lighthouses and collected them. Her daughters took her to her first rock concert at 55, which was her favorite band Meat Loaf.

Bernita is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John; daughters, Bonnie (Roger) Potter and Carla Cuthbert; mother, Margaret Thompson; grandchildren, Tylyn (Brandon) Lange, Taylorand Tanner Thomas; great grandchild, Crue Lange; sisters-in-law, Cides (Ben), Evelyn, and Bernice (Russ); brother, Edward (Deb) Jackson;
a special aunt, Ruth Musser and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Maier Family Funeral Home in Weidman from 1 to 4 p.m.
