Betty Lou Ahrens

Betty Ahrens, 88, of Palm Desert California died on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Woodland House in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private memorial service on a future date in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California. In lieu of flowers Betty would like you to pay it forward with a card or kind gesture to someone in need. Betty was born on January 4, 1930, to the late Hadsel and Mina (Folsom) Chapman in Whiteside County, Illinois. She was married to the late DuWayne Ahrens for 59 years. Betty is survived by; her daughters, Debra Smith of Denver, CO., and Nancy (Arend) Smith of Farwell, MI.; Five grandchildren, Bruce (Brittni) Smith of Denver CO., Kevin (Makayla) Smith of Denver, CO., Josh (Lisabeth) Smith of Muskegon, MI., Amanda (John) Lucha of the Joint Base MDL, NJ., and Danielle (Brian) Johnson of Reed City, MI.; and 12 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by; her parents; brother, Charles Chapman; and husband, DuWayne Ahrens in 2010.
