Betty Ann Kennedy, 73 of Las Vegas, NV and formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Progressive Hospital in Las Vegas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Churchwith Father Don Henkes presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Emphysema Foundation, 15 Belden Ave., Norwalk CT 06850. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Betty was born Nov. 11, 1932, in Isabella County, the daughter of John and Anna (Wohlscheid) Yuncker. Her first marriage to Rodney Phillips in 1952 produced four sons. She later married William Kennedy on March 21, 1964 and together they had one son. She worked at Ferro Mfg. For 14 years and retired from CMU after several years. Betty is survived by her husband, William Kennedy of Las Vegas; five sons, Rodney (and fiance, Ronda McConnell) Phillips of Coldwater Lake, David Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, Ronald (and fiance, Renee Read) Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, Douglas (Mary) Phillips of Mt. Pleasant, and Brian Kennedy of Weidman; 10 grandchildren, David R. and Samantha Phillips, Bryce and Shelby Read, Kaleb, Jorden, Kirstyn and Jacob Phillips, and McKayla and Hope Kennedy; one great-grandson, Talan; three sisters, Janet (Vincel) Craven of Mecosta, Carol (Robert) Fedewa of Mt. Pleasant; and Bonnie Burton of Clare; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1970; father in 1983; son, Steven; and brother, Ray Yuncker in 1959.
