Betty West, 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Woodland Hospice. A Funeral Mass for Betty will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held presiding. Burial will follow at St. Henry Cemetery in Rosebush. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or Sacred Heart Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Betty was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Midland County, daughter of the late Evert and Viola (Smith) Bernard. She married John Jack West on Dec. 29, 1952 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Leaton. She had been employed by Giant Super Market. She is survived by a sister, Helen (Robert) Juhas of Breckenridge; and many nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack West in 2000; and five sisters, Dorothy Donley, Nina Hitchcock, Lois Foutch, Erma Hamlin and Peggy Wing.
