Bobby Anderson, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at his daughters home with his family at his side. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Brown of Cornerstone Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army or Goodrow Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Bobby was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Buffalo, Ohio, the oldest of nine children born to the late Charles and Stella (Kirk) Anderson. He attended Mt. Pleasant Public Schools and from 1951-1954, served in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Hawaii as a cook where he married his first wife, Linda Monica Okomoto. Upon his return to Mt. Pleasant he worked a short time for Scott Drilling Co. in Clare. In 1955 he took a job as an LPN at the State Home in Mt. Pleasant where he would remain for 38 years until his retirement in 1994. During his years at the State Home he met Kay (Root) Klumpp, whom he would marry on May 19, 1972 in Mt. Pleasant. In his retirement returned to work at Jays Sporting Goods for about 15 years. He was an avid hunter and fisher, enjoyed bowling, plowing snow, snowmobiling, and gardening, and was a wonderful cook. He was a member of Cornerstone Church. Bobby is survived by his wife, Kay Anderson; children, Iwalani (Randy) Baker of Cadillac, Robert (Cheri) Anderson of Burnsville, MN, and Sue Hahn of Mt. Pleasant, David Klumpp of Clarkston, Wayne (Kim) Klumpp of Mt. Pleasant, and James Klumpp of Traverse City; 10 grandchildren, Trevor, Ian, Lauren, Spencer, Joshua, Elizabeth, Shelby, Benjamin, Katie, and Adam; several great-grandchildren; four siblings, James (Kim) Anderson of Durand, Dick (Pat) Anderson of Weidman, Denny (Carol) Anderson of Perrinton, and Albert (Myra) Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Bill and Ronald Anderson and Sue Sweet and Annie Straw.
