Bradley N. Schafer, 38, of Weidman died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes and Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Brad was born June 27, 1965, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Joseph W. and Donna M. (Matthews) Schafer. He was a self-employed wood worker in custom designs. He enjoyed fishing. Brad is survived by his father, Joseph Schafer of Weidman; mother, Donna Grady of Mecosta; three brothers, Joseph (Julie) Schafer of Weidman, Russell (Julie) Schafer of Weidman, and William Schafer of Lake; four sisters, Teresa (Jim) Fussman of Shepherd, Bernadette (Mike) Malone of Powers, Margie (Roger) Myers of Weidman, and Deborah (Mark) Coe of Lake Isabella; grandmother, Blanche Schafer of Mt. Pleasant; 15 nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Schafer; and maternal grandparents, Norbert and Lorraine Matthews.
