Bronislaw "Bruno" Zawacki

Bruno Zawacki, age 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday, January 21, 2004. His funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Leaton with Father Jeff Donner officiating. The family will receive friends at St. Charles Catholic Church from 10:00 until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Bruno was born March 10, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Walter and Helen (Slemp) Zawacki, Sr. They later moved and made their residence in Michigan. Bruno spent most of his life on the family farm. He enjoyed being around animals and working in the fields. He also loved playing cards, watching sports and listening to polka music. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Tendercare for the wonderful care given to Bruno. We would also like to add a special thank you to Patty, who was very special to Bruno. Thank you for the love and care that you gave him. Bruno is survived by his brother, Walter (Agnes) Zawacki of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Sophie Zawacki of Chicago, IL; guardian and niece, Gloria (Don) Moeggenberg of Shepherd; nieces, Judy (Al) ONeil of Clare; Janet (Randy) Raymond of Clare; Dorothy and Mariane of Chicago, IL; two nephews, John Zawacki and Tom (Diane) Zawacki both of Wisconsin; and many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Clarence Zawacki; two sisters-in-law, Rita and Edna Zawacki; four nephews, Timothy, Richard, Donald and Steven Zawacki; one niece, Frances (Zawacki) Ley; and one great niece, Julie Tiedeman.
