Bruce York

Bruce York, age 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at his home, with his loved ones by his side.

Bruce was born December 4, 1948, in Isabella County, Michigan, son of the late Jack and Dorothy (Kyser) York. A graduate of Shepherd High School in 1967, Bruce married the love of his life, Judy Halfmann, on May 23, 1969, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Rosebush.

He began working at Ferro Manufacturing and ended his career as a sales rep for Midland Chemical.

Bruce found great joy in deer hunting with his daughter Nichole. The two hadn’t missed opening day since she turned 13. He also enjoyed fishing, playing euchre, and trying his luck at Bay Mills Casino in Brimley.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; daughter Nichole (Wayne) Hoffman of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Brandon Bliss; sister, Carol McCrackin of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Jack and Dorothy York; and sister, Janet Marshall.

The family is planning a memorial service in the Spring of 2027, to be held at the Mt. Pleasant Eagles Club.
