Camille English, 97, of Swartz Creek and formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Loren Kalinowski presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Camille was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Saginaw, the daughter of Conrad C. and Mary J. (Schrems) Forster. She married the late Joseph English on Oct. 30, 1934, at St. Andrew Church in Saginaw. She graduated from St. Andrew High School and received her Teaching Certificate from Central Michigan University. She taught Kindergarten at Kinney Elementary and was also a substitute teacher at various other schools in Mt. Pleasant. She spent the majority of her life in Mt. Pleasant but has spent the last seven years in Swartz Creek to be near her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she served on the altar society. She enjoyed cards, especially Bridge. But most important to Camille was her family. She is the beloved mother of Conrad (Nancy) English of Torch Lake, JoAnn Grisdale of Cheboygan, Molly (Ken) Lixey of Swartz Creek, and Camille Camey (Tom) Carter of Interlochen; loving grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 28. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; five brothers; and two sisters.
