Carol A. Marchiando

Carol A. Marchiando, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, surrounded by her family. Born on October 17, 1939, in Rosebush, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Patrick and Geraldine (Laubenthal) Horan and was one of five children.

Carol graduated from Beal City High School in 1957 and married Joseph Marchiando on April 20, 1963, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Beal City. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Theunissen and Dr. Eifler before her marriage, later working at Isabella Bank in Beal City. Carol was a dedicated member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women, and served as head of the Coldwater Lake Association. She found joy in golfing, playing cards, crafts, and dancing, particularly the polka. Her love for her family was evident in the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol's memory will be treasured by family and all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph; children, JoAnn (Norm) Droste of Traverse City, Tim (Christy) Marchiando of Beal City, and Pat (Cay) Marchiando of Beal City; grandchildren: Nicole (Kellan) Walsh, Kristina (Justin) Lidak Droste, Casey (Mario) DiMercurio, Brittany (Chad) Gittus, Jessica Marchiando, and Joe Marchiando; great-grandchildren: Kolette, Kole, Kollins, Siena, Josephina, Helena, Grayden, Tanner, Dawson, Sterling, Dylan, and Cole.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Geraldine Horan; grandson, Nicolas Karl Droste; brothers, Bill Horan and Bobby Horan; infant sister, Patricia Horan; and infant brother Joseph Horan.

A Funeral Mass for Carol will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Matt Gembrowski presiding. A luncheon will follow at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall.
