Carol Ann Pifer, age 70, of Remus passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on December 22, 1943 to Gale and Velma (Stalter) Brien at Mt. Pleasant. She was raised in Shepherd and attended Shepherd schools graduating in 1962. She married Patrick Pifer on August 6, 1983 at the Alma East Superior Christian Church. Carol was a dedicated volunteer for the Association for Interfaith Ministries and a member of the Weidman United Methodist Church.She enjoyed hunting and gardening. Carol was an avid member of several old car clubs. Carol retired from C.M.U in 2006.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Patrick (Pat); children, Kari Ballenbach of Alma and Lori DeLong of St. Louis; parents, Gale and Velma Brien; grandchildren, Kayla Ballenbach of Alma, Brandon Vega in the U.S. Marines and Travis (Mary) Vega in the U.S. Air Force and Nicholas DeGrand of St. Louis; great-grandson, Christian; brother, William Brien; and sisters,Shirley (Ted )Bailey, Beverly (Wesley) Apotheker and Sharon Carter.
Carol was preceded in death by her son Christopher DeLong.
A Memorial Service for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Weidman United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott B. Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations in Carol's memory may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home.
