Carole A. Delong

Carole DeLong, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant. Her funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Carole was born February 22, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Hundt) Doerr. She was employed by the Mt. Pleasant Center as a housekeeper for over 10 years, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed shopping but, above all, she loved spending time with her family. Carole is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Dave) Ellis and Kim Himebaugh, both of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Tracie (Rolan) Garcia of Coleman, Gary (Tasha) Ellis of Tennessee and Angela and Amanda Himebaugh of Mt. Pleasant; three great-grandchildren, Braeden Garcia and Ashton and Carmen Ellis; two brothers, Ron (Lois) Doerr of Mt. Pleasant and Williard (Mary) Doerr of Daytona Beach, FL; and sister-in-law, Linda Doerr of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Fred Himebaugh; two brothers, Ken and Ed Doerr; and two sisters, Alice Recker and Jeanne Merritt.
