Carolyn Alice Mills

Carolyn Alice Mills of Mt. Pleasant,

Passed away September 17, 2024, with her beloved family by her side. Carolyn was born in Mt. Pleasant, June 21, 1942, the daughter of Edward Francis and Margaret Mary (Whalen) McKenna. She was a 1960 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy High School. Carolyn went on to work at Mt. Pleasant High School as an administrative assistant for over 30 years before retiring. She then worked at Oasis Adult Alternative Education for a few years, decided that retirement suited her, and hung up her hat to enjoy a full retirement. Carolyn enjoyed golfing, was in a golf league, was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved to read. Friday nights were fun nights with her girl friends as they enjoyed food combined with a lot of laughter. She would proudly tell anyone who asked, that her greatest achievement in life was that of her 3 boys. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at McLaren Hospital Mt. Pleasant for the wonderful care Carolyn received. Also, thank you to family and friends that were able to visit with her to lift her spirits while she was ill.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Mark (Jennifer Siefker) Mills, Mike (Jennifer) Mills, Tim (Louanna Bruner) Mills; grandchildren, Tyler (Lindsay) Mills, Chelsea (Alex) Stefanelli, Matthew Mills, Ryan Grisdale, Michael (Kristine) Mills, Sean Mills, Kathryn (Ryan) Arnold, Alec Mills, Courtney (Adam) Waybrant; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Riley, Andrew, Ava, Bronson, Wesley, and one more on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathryn Steufen; brothers, Jimmy and Mike McKenna.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 am Saturday September 21, 2024, at St Vincent de Paul Parish, 168 E. Wright Ave, Shepherd, MI 48883. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service with interment in Calvary Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, MI. Following the committal a luncheon will be held at the Lincoln Reception Center attached to the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home (2300 S. Lincoln Rd. Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858).
