Cary Sue Mcguire

Cary Sue McGuire, age 58, of Alma, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Woodland Hospice House. Born on June 1, 1967, Cary Sue was the second of three children born to Ralph and Rita (Gibson) Smith. She grew up with her siblings, Carla and Russell.

Cary Sue completed cosmetology school through M.J. Murphy Beauty College in 1984 and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1985. She began her career at Bo Ric's and later moved to Red Maple in Shepherd. For the past 15 years, she was a dedicated property manager at Scotsdale Estates in Alma.

She cherished sunbathing, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoying the beach. Cary Sue also loved watching the Food Network, which was her last request for TV viewing.

She is survived by her children, Nathan McGuire and Abby (Jacob) LaLonde, both of Alma; her four grandchildren, Brayden, Levi, Laila, and Lexi; her siblings, Carla Smith of Massachusetts and Russell (Carrie) Smith of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Cary Sue was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held in the summer, with the time, date, and place to be announced.
