Casey P. Mason, 22, of Cadillac and formerly of Lake was killed in combat on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 in Mosul, Iraq. His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Following the luncheon, burial will be in Haring Township Cemetery in Cadillac at 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan for the new Hospice House. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Casey was born Feb. 17, 1985, in Midland, the son of Jeffrey and Robbin (Lange) Mason. He was enrolled at Sanford Meridian Elementary until the 4th grade at which time his family moved to Lake. He graduated from Farwell High School in 2003. He worked at Lux Funeral Home in 2004 and soon after began working for Mobile Medical Response. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 30, 2006 and was deployed to Iraq on September 23, 2007. Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing, quad riding, computers, and firearms. Casey was a bright young man with a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Casey is survived by his loving parents, Jeffrey and Robbin Mason of Cadillac; and his brother, Zachary Mason of Cadillac.
