Catherine P. Turley Hoff, 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, at Mt. Pleasant Community Church with Rev. Malcolm Brown officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Community Church. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Catherine was born Feb. 8, 1921 in Richfield, NC, the daughter of Carson C. and Pearl G. (Roseman) Misenheimer. She married Jessie W. Turley on May 28, 1936. After his death in 1969, she married Mack Hoff on April 12, 1975. She worked at Federal Department Stores in Ferndale as a sales clerk. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church. Catherine is survived by two children, Freida (Roland) Augustine of Mt. Pleasant and Myron (Deborah) Turley of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Mike (Barb) Skowneski, Mark (Lynn) Skowneski, Marlette (Nathan) Clinkscale, Angela Turley, Felicia Turley, Nick (Elaine) Augustine, and Becky (Mike) Duke; 14 great-grandchildren, Nicole (William), Sara, Courtney, Leah, Michael (Amy), Becky, Elizabeth, Stacy, Travis, Justin, Mike, Tim, Robert, and Brian; eight great-great-grandchildren, Jeniffer, Haley, Michael Jr., Sydni, Tatyana, Robert, Caitlyn, and Alan; two sisters, Alice Beaman and Dovie Harwood, both of North Carolina; special friends, Chuck and Shirley Thomas and their son, Brad Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jessie Turley in 1969; her second husband, Mack Hoff in 1995; four brothers; three sisters; a grandson, Ron Augustine; and a great-great-grandson, Earl Russell.
