She married Gerald Yuncker on July 23, 1949 at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. She spent 10 years as a bus driver at Beal City Public Schools and was the first woman to hold that position. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking, canning, farming, gardening, running the roads, and eating out. But family was the most important part of Kittys life, especially her grandchildren. She was the loving and devoted wife to Jerry; beloved mother and grandmother to her six surviving children and 16 grandchildren, Rick (Jean) Yuncker of Montrose and their children, Sara, Shawn, and Katie; Vickie (David) Shoff of Mt. Pleasant and their children, Jessicca (Larry) Sommer, Brittney, and Chelsea; Cindy (Andy) Spence of Mt. Pleasant and their children, Michael and Megan; Marty Yuncker of Beal City and his children, Matt and Makaila; Mark (Denise) Yuncker of Beal City and their children, Marcus, Ryan, and Valerie; and Amy Himes of Mt. Pleasant and her children, Whitney, Lindsey, and Rielley Kate. She is also survived by a brother, Dick (Carol) Clare of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Betty Holmes of Detroit. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Rocky; sister, Edwardine Mary Knight; and brother, Joseph Bud Clare. Whenever Kitty met a stranger, they always walked away a friend.
