Cecelia I. Pohl, 93, of Beal City died Monday, August 30, 2004 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Fr. John Cotter presiding. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or School. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Cecelia was born April 6, 1911, in Isabella County, the daughter of David and Margaret (McNerney) Crowley. She married Victor W. Pohl on Nov. 30, 1935 at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. She was very active at St. Joseph Church, having served in the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed canning, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Cecelia is survived by three children, Elaine and Earl Currie of Beal City, Victoria and John Bollman of Beal City, and Ron and Denise Pohl of Beal City; seven grandchildren, Alan (Merry) Currie, Pamela (Rich) Murphy, Robin (Shelly) Currie, Kerrie (Michael) Strope, Brad (Maureen) Bollman, Stephanie Pohl, and Ryan Pohl; eight great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Monica Buchler of Alma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor in 1997; four brothers, and one sister.
