Chad Bronson, 39, of Mt. Pleasant passed away suddenly the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was born Nov. 11, 1974, in West Branch son of Ralph Dean Bronson and Connie Marie Near. He married Maiko Takasa on Aug. 12, 2007, at Island Park in Mt. Pleasant. He spent his younger years in Whittemore and graduated in 1993 from Elkton-Pigeon-Bayport High School. Chad had a passion for hunting and fishing and was featured in several articles by noted Michigan outdoor writer, Betty Sodders. He enjoyed fly-tying, doing watercolor paintings, reading and traveling, having been to Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Australia and Japan.He was most recently employed by Big Boy in Clare. Chad loved his family and is survived by his wife of nearly seven years, Maiko; parents, Connie and Wayne Richardson of Lake and Mary and Ralph Bronson of Bay Port; sister, Erin Bronson and niece, Marissa Bronson of Durand; parents-in-law, Noriko and Toshiki Takasa of Japan; brother-in-law, Akira (Junko) Takasa of the Netherlands; step-brothers, David Richardson of El Cerrito, CA and Ronald (Julie) Aldridge of Pigeon and their three sons; grandmother, Ethel Bronson of Bad Axe; uncles, Eugene (Sara Crawford) Near and Kenneth Bronson; aunts, Joann Bittle and Joyce Arnold; great-aunts, Rosellen Bursick, Evelyn Erickson and Ruth Witkowski; and great-uncle, Edwin Gingrich. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Bronson; grandparents, Dorothy and Albert Near; and step-brother, Scott Aldridge. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
