Charles (Chuck) Barratt December 19, 1916-April 21, 2016 Charles (Chuck) Barratt, 99, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016. Chuck was born December 19, 1916, in London, Canada, son of James and Mabel (Fortey) Barratt. He graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and attended the University of Detroit. Chuck married Margaret Peggy (Edmond) on August 24, 1940. Peggy passed away in March of 2010. He served in the United States Air Force in WWII. Chuck started the Barratt Distributing Company selling windows and doors in 1955. Chuck loved to volunteer and spend time helping others. He spent 15 years volunteering at the V.A. Hospital and delivered for Meals on Wheels for about 10 years. Chuck is survived by daughter-in-law Geneva Barratt of Mt. Pleasant; Son Robert (Mei) Barratt of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Erika (Conan) Barratt-Hines of Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Tyler (Christian) Barratt of Beverly Hills, CA, Tina (Andy) Loretto-Garcia of Phoenix, AZ; two great-granddaughters, Aneciana Garcia of Phoenix, AZ and Ariana Loretto of Mt. Pleasant; and one great-great-granddaughter, Alina Roberts; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, James and Mabel; Wife, Margaret; Son Richard Barratt; Siblings, Edna May, Harry Barratt, Audrey Haas. A memorial service and celebration of life for Chuck will be held at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State St, Bridgeport, MI 48722, on Saturday, June 18, at 12 p.m. A luncheon will follow at Sullivan Restaurant, 5235 Gratiot Rd.
