Charlotte Marie (Theisen) Ramsey, 73, of Mt. Pleasant passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 1, 2021. Charlotte was born May 24, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Howard and Margaret (Marz) Theisen. During the final years of Charlotte Ramsey's life, when 4th stage breast cancer took her to new experiences/challenges - she remained cheerful, joyful, and never complained. She endured eight years of that journey with grace, courage, and acceptance. A gentle and devout woman, Charlotte started her day with scripture. She often spent many hours cooking, reading, exercising, golfing, vacationing, and playing cards. She grew up the oldest of four siblings, graduated in 1965 from Sacred Heart Academy. She had ballet lessons as a child, was a cheerleader in high school and ended her high school days representing her hometown as Miss Mt. Pleasant in the Traverse City National Cherry Festival in 1965. She made us all proud! Charlotte was a valued administrative assistant at Midland Dow Corning and General Motors. She was known and loved by her co-workers for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and ready smile. Charlotte married the love of her life, Bill Ramsey, on August 16, 1969 at Sacred Heart Church. Bill and Charlotte enjoyed many treasured family vacations. In retirement, they took excursions to the Canadian Rockies, Hilton Head Island, S.C., St. Augustine, FL, St. George, UT, Zion Nat'l. Park, Yellowstone Nat'l. Park, the U.P. and visits to family is N.J., GA, and TX. Charlotte was a doting and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and she went out of her way to love, teach, mentor and model her family through Christ's example. She was the heart of her family. Charlotte's presence will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by Bill Ramsey Jr., her biggest fan and her husband of 51 years; her children, Tricia (Tom) Giroux of Byron, Jennifer (Kevin) Sweigart of Frankenmuth, Bill Ramsey III of Traverse City, and Heather Ramsey of Mt. Pleasant. All four of her children are recipients of degrees in higher education. She was adored by her three granddaughters, Juliana Giroux, Lillian Sweigart and Gretchen Sweigart. She is remembered lovingly and fondly by siblings Jeanie (Don) Goheski, Ron Theisen, Nancy (Mike) Klumpp and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Margaret Theisen. The family is grateful for everyone who helped them and prayed for them through this difficult time. They wish to acknowledge her oncologist, Dr. Hurtubise and his valued nurse coordinator, Pam Topor. Their actions were above and beyond standard care and was greatly and lovingly appreciated!
