Cindy Brewer, 52, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at her home. A Memorial service for Cindy will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Charles R. Lux Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Harold Owens officiating. A luncheon will follow immediately at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice or The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Cindy was born June 23, 1963, in Wayne County, daughter of Lucy (White) Stickley and the late Earl Stickley, Jr. She married Donald Brewer December 10, 1983 in Clare. After graduating from Farwell High School in 1981 she completed her undergraduate studies at Alma College. She continued her education at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC where she earned her Juris Doctorate Degree in 1990.Cindy enjoyed swimming, bike riding, two-tracking, tiger baseball, shooting pool, dancing and cross-stitching. She had a love for dogs. Cindy was also a published author. She was employed as an attorney with Tom Hall and Joe Barberi until 1991 when she worked for Joe Barberi independently until she retired in 2001. She was a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan, Gamma Delta Alpha, Alpha Theta Society, Phi Beta Kappa and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Cindy is survived by her husband, Donald Brewer; dogs, Java, Shasta and Fresca; mother, Lucy Stickley of Fort Ashby, WV, and mother-in-law, Phyllis (Dickinson) Brewer. She was preceded in death by her father Earl Riley Stickley, Jr.
