Clara B. Curtiss, 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, July 15, 2002 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas J. McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Winn. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Clara was born Nov. 16, 1914, in Blanchard, the daughter of Charles F. and Mary (Weaver) Cummins. She married Stanford L Curtiss in Greenville. She was a homemaker who devoted all her life to her husband and family because they were the most important and precious part of her life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Catholic Daughters, Girl Scouts, Child Study Club, and St. Marys Altar Society of Alma. Clara is survived by three sons, Stanford (Kay) Curtiss of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Curtiss of Dubuque, Iowa and Timothy (Mary Beth) Curtiss of Saginaw; four daughters, Mary (Everett) Grondin of Marshall, Joan (Bernard) Paulson of Corpus Christi, TX, Nancy (Fred) Moore of Grayling and Donna Carrichner of Huntington, Long Island, NY; 25 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary (Bud) Imhoff of Lakeview; and one brother, Charles (Betty) Cummins of Edmore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanford in 1994; four grandchildren, Mark Curtiss, Susan Moore, Joseph Paulson and Thomas Paulson; two brothers, and two sisters.
