Clara A. Famutimi

Clara Famutimi, 49, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, at her home, with her family by her side. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Carla Ives of Potters House officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Following burial, a luncheon will take place in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday one hour prior to the service. Clara was born January 22, 1969, in Nigeria, daughter of the late Joseph and Taiwo (Gbemibade) Ogbemudia. She married Eric Famutimi in February 1989 in Nigeria. A devoted Christian, Clara was a member of Potters House. She enjoyed music and cooking, but mostly enjoyed being of service to others. Clara is survived by her husband, Eric Famutimi; children, Evelyn (Famutimi) Iheka of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Mary E. Famutimi, Erica Famutimi, Jordan Famutimi, and Eric Famutimi Jr., all of Mt. Pleasant; son-in-law, Cajetan Iheka; grandson, Kamsiyonna E. Iheka; siblings, Iwalola, Ayomiposi, Yemi, Rotimi, Akin, and Ejilayo, all of Nigeria; mother-in-law, Mary O. Famutimi of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous extended family members in Nigeria. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Florence.
