Claudius C. Bailey, 95, of Rosebush died Monday, December 19, 2005 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Lorraine McGuinness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rosebush Manor, 4210 E. Rosebush Rd., Rosebush MI 48878. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Claudius was born April 1, 1910 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of George and Jennie (Hitsman) Bailey. He married Olive Dorothy Button on October 26, 1933 in Angola, Indiana. He worked for Loomis machine Company/Rite Hite Docks as an experimental engineer, retiring after 30 years. He also raised beef and cash crops. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling, spending time at Higgins Lake and Okeechobee, Fla., and playing checkers. But he enjoyed spending time with his family the most. Claudius is survived by three children, Joyce (Dale) Laverty of Farwell, Janet (Donald) Tiedeman of Holly, and Bruce (Kim) Bailey, Rosebush; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jennie Bailey; his wife, Olive "Dorothy"; a granddaughter, DeeAnna (Tiedeman) Carmichael; brother, Stanley Bailey and infant twin brothers.
